As a pediatric hospitalist and Medical Director of pediatric services at Carilion Medical Center for Children, Don Kees, M.D. notes the joy created in caring for children while in our children's hospital as having a great impact on his work and leadership.
Having worked for Carilion for over fifteen years, Dr. Kees began his pursuit of medicine by attending medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He then complete his residency in pediatrics at North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Chapel Hill.
Dr. Kees holds memberships in the Amercian Academy of Pediatrics (national and Virginia chapter) and the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children.
Dr. Kees began practicing pediatric medicine at Physicians to Children, Inc. locally in Roanoke. He then joined faculty at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital to provide hospital-based pediatric care and serve in various leadership roles within pediatric services. Additionally, Dr. Kees holds an assistant professorship in Pediatrics, Roanoke Program, University of Virginia School of Medicine.
