Carilion hospitals receive four- and five-star ratings for patient satisfaction

Last month, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released its new rating system for hospitals, and Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital was among the top seven percent of hospitals nationwide.  It was the only hospital in Virginia to achieve a five-star rating for patient satisfaction and one of only 251 hospitals nationwide to receive the distinction. Two other Carilion Hospitals—Carilion New River Valley Medical Center and Carilion Giles Community Hospital—each received four-star ratings.

First Place Medal in Virginia Blue Ridge Komen Race for the Cure Given to Jefferson College of Health Sciences Co-Worker

Last Friday, May 1, there was a special new piece of jewelry in Kathy York’s office—a medallion ringed with three circles of eye-catching pink rhinestones.  Dr. Ally Bowersock with Jefferson College of Health Sciences, ran in the Susan G. Komen Virginia Blue Ridge Race for the Cure on Saturday, April 25, as a tribute to Kathy and won first place of all female runners.
