Spring Multispecialty Symposium for Primary Care Physicians

Target Audience
Primary care physicians. N.P.s, P.A.s, nurses and other healthcare professionals are encouraged to attend.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the conference beginning promptly at 8 a.m. The conference will end at 2 p.m.  

Approved Objectives:

·        Discuss the spectrum of atrial arrhythmias and stroke risks

·        Review techniques for detecting occult tachyarrhythmias

·        Discuss treatment options for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation

·        Discuss updates in advanced laproscopic general surgery and vascular surgery for the PCP

·        Define sleep apnea and when to refer a patient for treatment

·        Review symptoms of cervical and lumbar spine disease

·        Review PCI and innovative cardiovascular technology for the PCP

·        Review the latest updates in management of hepatitis C

You and your support partner are provided with the information and skills needed to approach labor and birth fully prepared.  This six-week series addresses topics such as breathing and relaxation techniques, the labor partner's role, variations of labor, the labor and birth process, adjustment to parenthood, and many other details of labor and birth.  Plan to attend this class in the beginning of your third trimester.  Taught by a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE). This course is offered at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.
