Biographical Sketch

Movement Disorders Neurologist After earning his medical degree at the State University of New York – Syracuse in 2003, Dr. Ferrara completed his neurology residency at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a two-year movement disorders fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas. He is currently an assistant professor at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute in Roanoke, Va. Dr. Ferrara is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the International Movement Disorder Society, and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. His clinical interests include all forms of adult and pediatric movement disorders. Dr. Ferrara has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal publications and book chapters covering movement disorder topics, including Parkinson’s disease, deep brain stimulation therapy, functional movement disorders, chorea, and tremor.
